Newday Impact Partners with Georgie Badiel Foundation to Accelerate Impact

SAN FRANCISCO and NEW YORK CITY — March 22, 2021 — Newday Impact, a San Francisco-based asset management and financial technology company that brings authentic responsible investing to those concerned having impact, has launched a partnership with Georgie Badiel and the Georgie Badiel Foundation (GBF). Ms. Badiel, the former Miss Africa and Miss Burkina Faso, is a social entrepreneur and supermodel based in New York City. Since 2015, GBF has built and repaired hundreds of wells, trained dozens of women in basic engineering, and brought clean water and sanitation programs to more than 270,000 people in Burkina Faso. The scope of the partnership includes:

  • Newday Impact provides assistance to Ms. Badiel with her work providing clean water and sanitation for west African countries, including her home country of Burkina Faso.

  • Newday Impact helps raise visibility for the important work that she and her foundation provide in west Africa.

  • Ms. Badiel and the foundation provide Newday Impact with expertise about the critical issues tied to clean water and empowerment for girls, women and communities for consideration into the Clean Water and Sanitation investment portfolio and advocacy work.

  • Newday Impact contributes a percentage of revenues tied to the Clean Water and Sanitation investment portfolio to the Georgie Badiel Foundation.

“Water is life. The partnership with Newday Impact is very important to our efforts in broadening the understanding of what needs to be done to support millions of people in west Africa.” said Georgie Badiel. “Complex challenges require thoughtful solutions, which is why we work closely with the community to do more than simply build wells. There are more than 15 million people in my home country that don’t have access to a toilet. That's 4 of every 5 people in rural areas who need access to clean water and sanitation. We believe this is a human right, and together with partners like Newday Impact, we will keep up our efforts until we have brought sustainable solutions to all who need it in Burkina Faso and throughout west Africa.” Over 54% of the rural population in Burkina Faso do not have access to clean drinking water. The mission of the Georgie Badiel Foundation is to change that, and in doing so, to empower girls and women while breaking the cycle of poverty.
